Ratan Tata appointed as Trustee of PM Cares Fund IG News

Tata Sons Group chairman Ratan Tata has been appointed as the trustee of PM Cares Fund.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 27, 2020 announced a new fund called ‘PM Cares’ to take measures to contain the spread of the Covid virus in the country.

Various private organizations and organizations have contributed to this fund. Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rajnath Singh are members of PM Cares Foundation.

In this case, Prime Minister Modi discussed the spending of PM Cares fund and how it can be used in times of emergency on Tuesday.

Former Supreme Court Justice KT Thomas, former Deputy Speaker Kariya Munda, industrialist Tata Sons Group Chairman Ratan Tata have been included as trustees of ‘PM Cares’ Foundation in this meeting. In this, Ratan Tata has been appointed as the Chairman of ‘PM Cares’ Foundation.

It is noteworthy that in September last year, the central government responded to a question asked in the Right to Information Act stating that BM Cares is not a trust of the Government of India and is a private trust.
