The enforcement department has seized Rs 53 lakh cash in raids conducted at the premises belonging to the relatives of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad.

In the case of getting land as a bribe for railway work, the enforcement department yesterday seriously searched the places belonging to the relative of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu.

In this case, in the search conducted by the enforcement department, the enforcement department confiscated Rs.53 lakh cash, 540 grams of gold, 1.5 kg of gold jewelry and 1900 US dollars in the search conducted at the houses of Lalu’s relatives.

From 2004 to 2009, when Lalu Prasad served as the Railway Minister in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government, some people from Patna were appointed in the Group-D jobs of the Railways. Instead, the Lalu family acquired about 1.05 lakh square feet of land owned by the people who got jobs or their family members. The CBI’s first information report stated that the Lalu family had directly purchased the land at a lower price than the market value.

The CBI interrogated Lalu Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi in ​​Patna for about 5 hours on Monday. Following this, the CBI officials interrogated Lalu for about 5 hours yesterday, who was staying at his daughter Misa Bharti’s house in Bhandara Park area of ​​Delhi after undergoing a kidney transplant.

As a result of this yesterday, the enforcement department is conducting raids at 15 places in the states of Delhi and Bihar in the places belonging to Lalu Prasad’s relatives.

Reports suggest that Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti is raiding properties belonging to Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and former Bihar MLA Abu Dojana.

The CBI has already filed a charge sheet in the Delhi Special Court in connection with this case. It is also noted that the special court has recently sent a notice to Lalu Prasad and his family members to appear in person on March 15.
