LAHORE – The Punjab Government has released Rs 88.6 million for the renovation and repair of Nursing College and Hostel at Ameeruddin Medical College/Lahore General Hospital (LGH). Ameeruddin Medical College Director Professor Al-Fareed Zafar during his visit to the college on Sunday said that out of the total funds of Rs. Rs 76 crore would be allocated for the nursing home. 12.6 million would be spent on a college of nursing. The College of Nursing and Hostel established in 1962 was in urgent need of repair and renovation. Prof Zafar said the renovation will include state-of-the-art lecture halls and a well-equipped library that will improve the educational environment for students. While talking to the students, Professor Zafar urged them to devote themselves to their professional education and training. He highlighted the noble nature of the nursing profession, which offers training, scholarships, free hostel accommodation and direct employment in class 16 after completing a four-year degree programme. Principal of Nursing College Maimoona Sattar also attended the visit and emphasized the importance of educating dedicated healthcare workers who are committed to serving humanity.
