New Delhi, August 30 (Language) Two weeks after Delhi Vigilance Minister Atishi was accused of corruption in revenue offices, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on Wednesday booked a deputy for alleged irregularities in the tender for organizing Urs-2023 in North Delhi. -Divisional Magistrate (SDM) suspended. According to officials, the Chief Secretary has booked ad-hoc DANICS (Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli Civil Services) officers and former SDMs of the acting branch for allegedly failing to prepare the tender on realistic estimates. Pramod Kumar suspended.
No response has been received from the suspended officer on the incident. Kumar was posted as SDM at the headquarters of the Revenue Department of Delhi Government. “The final tender for this 22-day religious event was initially estimated at Rs 5.4 crore but the bid was received at Rs 54 lakh,” an official document said. This means that the officer had planned in advance by setting a very large budget so that he could increase the quantity.
Hours after taking charge at the Vigilance Directorate on August 14, Atishi had claimed that she had received complaints of bribery in SDM offices and directed the Chief Secretary to take action in the matter.
