Security forces killed three terrorists in North Waziristan: ISPR – Pakistan IG News

The army’s media affairs wing said three terrorists were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in Datta Khel tehsil of North Waziristan on Thursday.

Security forces on Wednesday launched an operation to clear the area after killing six terrorists in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the vicinity.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists.

“The local people of the area appreciated the response of the security forces and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area,” the press release said. Last week, security forces gunned down a terrorist during an IBO in the general area of ​​Mir Ali in North Waziristan district.

“During the conduct of the operation, an intense exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists. As a result, one terrorist was killed,” ISPR said.

On 22 February, security forces killed eight terrorists in a search operation in Kech district of Balochistan.

According to the ISPR, on the evening of February 22, terrorists tried to ambush a convoy of security forces in Kech district of Balochistan.

It said that the alert and battle-ready troops not only foiled the cowardly attack without loss of life, but they also immediately launched a follow-up operation to hunt down the fleeing terrorists using ground and aviation assets.

“As a result, on the morning of 23 February, a suspected hideout of terrorists was identified in Majaband range, where a sanitisation operation was launched. In the ensuing and heavy gunfight, eight terrorists were killed, while a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered were also involved. The explosive was recovered,” it added.
