Former Union Minister Shanti Bhushan passed away. He served as a prominent senior advocate. He breathed his last in Delhi. In 1974, Shanti Bhushan argued on behalf of Rajnarayan in the Allahabad High Court against the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He has heard arguments on many important issues. He is known as a lawyer who raised his voice against corruption. He served as the Minister of Law from 1977 to 1979 in the Janata Party government formed after the Emergency in the country.

Shanti Bhushan was born on November 11, 1925 in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. Served as Senior Advocate in Supreme Court. He was active in Congress (O) and later joined Janata Party. He continued as a member of the Rajya Sabha from July 14, 1977 to April 2, 1980. He served as the Law Minister from 1977 to 1979 in the Union government led by Morarji Desai. Shanti Bhushan also played a key role in the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party.
