Mumbai : Domestic stock markets opened slightly higher on Tuesday. The 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 61,167.24, up 22.4 points, or 0.4 percent, at 9:91 am. But the NSE Nifty was trading down 3.05 points, or 0.02 per cent, at 18,156.90. TCS (TCS) shares were down 0.67 percent in early trade on the Nifty. Similarly, shares of Powergrid, JSW Steel, Apollo Hospitals and Nestle India were trading in the red.

Dr Reddy’s, Larsen & Toubro, Bajaj Finserv, Ultratech Cement and Maruti were trading up 0.67 per cent on NSE’s Nifty.

Monday status
The domestic stock market fell for the third day in a row on Monday. The BSE Sensex closed down 518 points amid a weak trend in global markets. Meanwhile, the 30-share Sensex fell by 518.64 points, or 0.84 percent, to close at 61,144.84. At one point during the trade, the Sensex had fallen by 604.15 points. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Market also fell by 147.70 points or 0.81 percent to close at 18,159.95 points.

The rupee opened higher
Today, the rupee touched a high against the dollar. Today, the rupee opened up 12 paise at 81.72. While the price of crude oil had fallen to 82 dollars on Monday, this time it is close to 88 dollars. On the other hand, the US market closed lower. The Dow Jones was down 0.13 percent, the S&P 500 was down 0.39 percent and the Nasdaq was down 1.09 percent.

Adani Group’s open offer of Rs 493 crore for NDTV from today
Meanwhile, Adani Group’s open offer to buy an additional 26 per cent stake in media company New Delhi Television (NDTV) will start from today. JM Financial, which is managing the offer on behalf of the Adani group of companies, said in a notice that the open offer will start on November 22 and close on December 5. The company has fixed a price band of Rs 294 per share for its open offer. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had on November 7 approved Adani Group’s proposed offer of Rs 492.81 crore to acquire an additional stake in NDTV.
