The excise team has seized liquor worth Rs 94 lakh in gas and chemical tankers in a week.
According to District Excise Officer Gajendra Singh Rajpurohit, information was received on Wednesday afternoon that a chemical tanker was being loaded with illegal liquor from Punjab and was going towards Gujarat. After finding the informer’s information reliable, Balotra Excise CI Bhanwarlal May’s team blocked the mega highway at Payala Kala village and stopped the tanker. When the driver Mangilal, resident of Dabal district Sanchore was strictly interrogated, he told that there was liquor in the tanker. Looking at the front portion, liquor cartons were seen. During investigation, bottles filled with liquor were found. On which that chemical tanker was brought to District Excise Office Barmer by Excise Team Balotra, Excise Police Station Team, Circle Team Barmer.

On Wednesday, the chemical tanker was seized and 310 cartons of different brands were seized.
Counting lasted for about 6 hours
The chemical tanker was brought to Barmer Excise Office. There the tanker was opened and different brands of liquor were taken out. It took the excise team more than 6 hours to count. Seized 310 cartons of liquor of different brands in the tanker. Whose estimated price is Rs 47 lakh.
Brought it very cleverly from Punjab
According to Excise Officer Gajendra Singh Rajpurohit, the rear side of the chemical tanker is painted black. Due to which it appears that the tanker has turned black due to filling with chemicals. The entire part was welded from the sheet below the rear chamber. A chamber is made inside it. The chamber is full of liquor. Liquor is filled in the tanker in this manner. Since the size of the chamber is also small. Due to not having many numbers, its tires also do not get clogged. The tires of the tanker were also full of air. Due to which the police and excise team could not catch him. Generally, when a large quantity of liquor is loaded, the tires remain pressed down. This raises doubts.
Was to be supplied in Gujarat
According to Gajendra Singh, during interrogation of the arrested driver, he told that the chemical tanker filled with illegal liquor was from Punjab, Jalandhar. Tankers deliver from one place. This does not allow us to know from where it is filled with illegal liquor. There is some team ahead to whom he is handed over in Gujarat.
Second major action in a week
Barmer and Balotra excise team has seized liquor worth Rs 94 lakh in a week. Action was taken on September 13 near Patau toll plaza of Pachpadra police station area. On Wednesday i.e. 20th September, while taking action in Payala Kala on Mega Highway, a chemical tanker filled with 310 cartons of illicit liquor was seized. Whose price is estimated at Rs 47 lakh.
Smugglers are adopting new methods
The excise officer says that liquor smugglers are smuggling from Chutrai. Now they are leaving the old trade and adopting new methods. Liquor is being smuggled through gas tankers and chemical tankers. Generally, police and excise teams do not investigate these tankers. Because it is very dangerous. The general does not doubt these tankers. It is very difficult to open them and see them midway.
