Spain happy for C-295, would like to become India’s reliable bilateral partner: Ambassador – ThePrint Hindi IG News

Ghaziabad, September 25 (Language) Spanish Ambassador Jose Maria Ridao on Monday expressed happiness over the arrival of the first C-295 medium military transport aircraft from Spain to India and stressed that Madrid would like to become New Delhi’s most reliable bilateral partner.

The aircraft was inducted into the Indian Air Force in a program organized at Hindon Air Force Station on Monday.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Air Force Chief V.R. Ridao attended the ceremony in the presence of Chaudhary and other senior officials. Senior officials of Airbus and Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) were also present at the event.

The military transport aircraft had landed in Vadodara on September 20, days after it was handed over to the Indian Air Force in the southern city of Seville, Spain. Airbus has a facility in Seville, Spain.

The Spanish Ambassador told PTI, “The first aircraft (C-295) from Spain is coming to this program and we are very happy at this moment. We have been closely associated with this program and we feel that we have a good opportunity to become an important partner for India in this specific sector (defense industry). So it’s a good day. “This is a good day for Tata, Airbus, Spain and India too.”

He said that 16 flights will leave from Spain for India. During this period, TASL will prepare for the production of the remaining aircraft and prepare them here. Under the programme, 40 aircraft will be manufactured in India.

Ridao said that Spain and its government are closely associated with this program, as it is also an opportunity to share technology with our partners. He said that it is a great honor for Spain to become India’s partner in this specialized field.
