Srikanth changed cars as many as 15 times to escape from the police IG News

Goon leader Srikanth Tyagi, who was absconding from the police after a case was registered on the charge of assault on a woman in Noida, was arrested in Meerut on Tuesday. It is reported that Tyagi changed cars not once but twice as many as 15 times to evade the police while on the run. Over the course of four days, Tyagi was chased by police across three states, from Noida to Delhi, then through Uttar Pradesh to Uttarakhand. Hrishikesh and Haridwar seem to have slept for some time in between.

Before the police arrested him in the hill state, he went to Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and from there to Baghpat and Meerut, where he hid in a close friend’s house.

A team of eight policemen were on the lookout for Tyagi
After fleeing Noida, Tyagi had gone straight to Delhi airport. But by the time he reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport that night, a video of him abusing a resident and assaulting men in a Noida housing society had gone viral. Fearing arrest, he diverted the car instead of going to the airport.

According to police, eight teams of Noida police were on the lookout for Tyagi. Later, four teams of STF were added in Uttar Pradesh for further strengthening. A large surveillance team of the UP STF was also involved in the search for the self-proclaimed BJP worker.

Not only the car but also the electronic gadgets have changed
To avoid being detected by the police, Tyagi changed not only cars but also electronic gadgets including mobile phones many times. As investigations into Srikanth Tyagi’s links with the BJP continue, new information came to light on Wednesday. Tyagi, who claims to be a national executive member of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha, was given three armed bodyguards on October 8, 2018, during the first term of the Yogi Adityanath government.

When they were provided security, Arvind Kumar was Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Uttar Pradesh and SSP, Ghaziabad was Vaibhav Krishna. Ghaziabad SSP Muniraj has sent a detailed report to the UP government regarding giving security details to Srikanth Tyagi. According to sources, strict action may be taken against those involved in providing them security.

What was the charge against Srikanth Tyagi??

Srikanth Tyagi was accused of assaulting and verbally abusing a woman after an argument inside the Grand Omax Society in Sector-93B, Noida.

The incident took place when a woman objected to Tyagi planting some saplings. Tyagi loses his patience and pushes the woman first. Later he also used derogatory words against her. The video of the incident has now gone viral. The Noida Police has registered a case against Tyagi under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. Later, charges under IPC Sections 323, 504, 506, 447 were also framed in the case.
