Green and leafy vegetables are sources of iron, calcium, vitamins A, C and K. On the other hand, fiber, protein, calcium and vitamin E are obtained from peanuts. Soybeans and lentils provide protein, while fruits are sources of folic acid, vitamins A, B and C, along with being anti-oxidants. Milk supplies calcium, phosphorus, protein, vitamins B and D in the body. Fiber, carbohydrate and protein are available from rice and wheat.
Dr. Vishal explains that if you are consuming any kind of intoxicant, then stop it, otherwise TB medicines will not be beneficial. Keep consulting your doctor from time to time during treatment. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough and sneeze, and tell your doctor if a family member has a cough, fever, or night shivers.

7.30 to 8.30 am – One of milk, idli dosa, poha paratha or roti omelette
11.00 am to 11.30 am – Fruit salad, vegetable salad, peanut sprouts, gram and moong or one of veg/chicken soup
12.30 to 1.30 pm – Cooked Vegetable Dal Curd and Roti with Rice, Sprouted Aahar and Curd with Rice, Sambar Dal Vegetable Raita with Rice Curd or Chicken/Fish/Egg with Rice and Cooked Vegetable
4.30 to 5.00 pm – Bhelpuri with milk, peanuts, fresh fruits/vegetables or sprouts/Bhelpuri of mixed vegetables or one of Chana
6.30 to 7.00 pm – Cooked sprouts, fruit salad, vegetable salad, wheat bread sandwich one of Veg/Veg

District Tuberculosis Officer Dr S D Ojha has said that there are many tuberculosis patients who are not able to take enough nutritious food due to economic reasons, which affects their immunity. In order to make the society tuberculosis free by providing nutrition to such people, a massive campaign is being run to adopt tuberculosis patients. Voluntary organizations are requested to adopt Tuberculosis patients and help them to make the district Tuberculosis free by giving them nutritious food.
