Minister Meiyanathan announced 15 new announcements of the Environment Department in the Legislative Assembly. In order to make the younger generation aware of climate change, he announced that under the Chief Minister’s Green Tamil Nadu scheme, steps are being taken to implement the Green School Project in 25 schools and in 2023-24, the Green School Project will be implemented in 50 more schools at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.
He also announced that under the Green Tamil Nadu scheme, one thousand small shops will be created by the industries to face the effects of climate change.

He announced that a 100-acre model forest project will be undertaken to highlight the Tamil language so that it can be seen from the moon as Tamil. He also said that the project of climate-friendly living system will be implemented by the Tamil Nadu government at a cost of 50 lakhs.
