Arnav Aich: Father used to drink and beat mother. The minor girl could not bear the torture of her mother. So the minor went to the police and complained of sexual abuse against the father. The accused father was arrested under the POCSO Act. But during the hearing of the case, the ‘truth’ came out in the testimony of the girl. After that, the court granted the bail application of the accused father.
This incident started last February. A minor resident of North Kolkata’s Baratala lodged a complaint with the Baratala Police Station saying that her father came in drunk and sexually abused her continuously. The investigation was started based on the girl’s complaint. The police arrested the girl’s father under the POCSO Act. Wednesday was the hearing day of the case.

In the POCSO court of Bankshall, the public prosecutor said that while testifying that day, the complainant minor said that her father would often beat her mother after returning home after drinking. The daughter could not do anything despite stopping her father. Mother used to cry. So, while teaching her father, the girl reported sexual abuse against her father to the police. Based on the application of the public prosecutor, the lawyer of the accused applied for bail. The lawyer of the accused said that after listening to the speech of both parties, the judge of the POCSO court granted bail to the accused on a bond of 3 thousand rupees.
