Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has once again cheated the Punjabis by manipulating the figures in the 2023-24 budget and showing a seductive picture while in reality Punjab is The economy is on a path of ruin as debt continues to mount and our performance on all scales is abysmal.

Reacting to the budget presented in the Vidhan Sabha today, the Akali Dal president rejected the claims of increase in revenue and said that the truth has been hidden from the Punjabis by manipulating the figures. He said that the truth is that the state’s debt is 42,181 Crore has increased to Rs 3.47 lakh crore. He said that this debt constitutes 46.81 percent of GSDP, which indicates that the state is moving towards economic poverty.

S. Badal also exposed the revenue figures presented by the AAP government and said that the financial deficit has been recorded at Rs 34784 crore which means that only nominal money has been kept for various departments and money is not going to be released for the schemes. He said. That the revenue deficit has increased from Rs 12,553 crore to Rs 24,588 crore.
