The agenda for the Economic Coordination Committee of the Federal Cabinet has been revealed. An additional grant of Rs 5 billion, 89 crore will be sanctioned for IRAs.

Upfront subsidy of Rs 70 billion is likely to be sanctioned for K Electric. An amount of Rs 55 billion will be sanctioned for Azad Kashmir’s arrears.

A supplementary technical grant of R2.5 billion is expected to be approved for the Ministry of Energy.

A technical grant of Rs 20 crore is likely to be approved for defense production. And special relief is expected for daily wage workers working at the Chiman border.

We will consider strategies to meet urea requirements for the 2024 kharif season. It is expected that funds will be approved for payment of salaries to Pakistan Steel employees.

At the meeting of the Economic Coordinating Committee Employee salaries will be freed from January 2024 to June 2024. The composition of the committee for next-generation mobile broadband services is expected to be revised. Meanwhile, additional funding for the Ministry of Interior and Housing is also likely to be approved.

The meeting included the allocation of funds for the maintenance of police units to be used in UN missions. The ECC will also consider finalizing NAB funds.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called a meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday. The investigation into the wheat import scandal will be reviewed at the meeting.

The meeting will also discuss the economic situation of the country. Decisions of the ECC must also be ratified at the meeting.
