The Election Commission has appointed the Returning Officer for the general elections
Islamabad (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed the Returning Officer for the general elections.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the appointment of Returning Officer for the general elections, and has also issued a notification in this regard.
Returning Officers have been recruited from the bureaucracy, the Election Commission has appointed ROs for 297 Punjab Assembly seats. DROs have also been appointed for 36 districts of the Punjab Assembly, the posts and DROs have been taken from the bureaucracy.
Earlier, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner to review the preparations for the general elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and a briefing was given regarding security. According to the security agencies, there are threat alerts in many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
The Election Commission will also take a briefing from the Chief Secretaries and IGs. The Ministry of Defense and related authorities will also brief the Election Commission. The Election Commission has asked for 3 lakh 53 thousand additional personnel for security. Also directed to release funds of 15 billion rupees.
