The Madras High Court has said that the basic purpose of marriage is not only for procreation, but also for physical pleasure.
A wife, who had separated from her husband in the court, had filed a petition in the Madras High Court to hand over her two sons to her. Judge Krishnan Ramasamy, who heard the case, expressed pain that the children are being taken into the evil world by the estranged couple who are suing to hand over the children to them.
He said that marriage is for procreation and not only for physical pleasure, and separating children from their mothers is an act of torture. Holding that turning a child against its parents is tantamount to turning it against itself, which is not only inhumane but harmful to the child, he ordered the temporary custody of both the children.
