Nirufa Khatun: With the help of rain, the mood of winter returned to Kolkata and Bengal. Several districts of South Bengal received light rain on Tuesday night. As a result, it felt cold from Wednesday morning. Alipur Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain in several districts of North and South Bengal on Wednesday as well.
There will be light fog in the city in the morning, but later it will be partly cloudy. The mood of winter will be felt in the evening as well as in the morning. The minimum temperature in Kolkata was 16.7 degrees Celsius in the morning. The maximum temperature yesterday afternoon was 23.3 degrees. The amount of water vapor in air is 53 to 83 percent. This morning there was light rain in Kakdwip, Namkhana, Diamond Harbour. On this day, there is a possibility of light rain in East and West Medinipur, South 24 Parganas. The coast and adjoining districts will be shrouded in fog.

On this day, the weather office said that there is a slight chance of light rain in five districts today. Light rain may occur over hilly areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Dense fog will continue in North Bengal. North Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpur are reported to have more impact of fog. Due to which the visibility can come down to 50 meters somewhere. Day temperature will be relatively low in North Bengal. Besides, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri will experience low day temperatures, resulting in cool day conditions.
According to the wind office, a high pressure system has formed in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, water vapor enters from the sea. On the contrary, the influence of north-west wind is also there. Due to this, several districts of Gangetic West Bengal, including the districts towards the west, will see temperatures close to normal, while fog and rain due to water vapor are likely in the coastal districts. Meanwhile, several states of North India including Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana are experiencing extreme cold.
