Three children including a child were killed in an attack by a wild elephant in Assam IG News

Puber Kalam Webdesk: Three people, including a child, lost their lives in Assam on Monday morning after being attacked by wild elephants. The group of elephants came down from the hilly areas of Meghalaya in search of food.

The tragic incident took place in Kurang village near Lakhipur on Monday morning on the Assam-Meghalaya border. According to news agency sources, the three fell in front of a group of elephants in search of food from the hilly areas of Meghalaya near Lakhipur in Assam. Within moments, the three including the child were crushed by the herd of elephants.

It may be noted that a young man was attacked by a wild elephant in Guwahati’s Amching Zorabat area last month. Also, three people, including two women, were killed in a wild elephant attack in Goalpara district last May. The forest department said that steps are being taken to prevent wild elephants from attacking the localities in this way.
