Chandrapur. The bodies of two tiger cubs were found in Ballarpur forest range in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district on Thursday, while another cub was rescued. The officers provided this information. A senior forest department official said five teams have been formed to trace his mother. Todoa-Andhari Tiger Reserve is located in Chandrapur district.
Forest guards launched a search operation after realizing that a tigress had gone missing leaving behind her three cubs. The official said they found the bodies of two cubs in the morning while one female cub was found alive. The female cub was shifted to Transit Treatment Centre, Chandrapur for medical examination. The official said that the dead cubs were about four months old.
He said, “The tigress must have gone hunting for food for the cubs and lost her way in the forest. Both the cubs might have been killed by wild animals.” He said the officials are trying to trace the tigress so that she can be reunited with the rescued cub. (agency)
