Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) firebrand MP Mahua Moitra on Friday criticized BJP’s spending in state elections. “Rama Rajyam is definitely an expensive affair,” he said. Mahuva Moitra tweeted that the BJP spent Rs.340 crores in the five state elections in 2022, of which Rs.221 crores were spent in Uttar Pradesh alone. He said that this is also the declared amount.

Meanwhile, Mahva Moitra also came under fire for the BJP’s sarcasm on Rahul’s t-shirt costing Rs 41,257 during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. “I am seriously advising the BJP. Don’t cross the line when it comes to comments on people’s dressing, especially the opposition. If we start talking about watches, pens, shoes, rings and clothes of BJP MPs, you will regret it,” she warned in a tweet.
