372 votes are required to win the vice presidential election. There are 780 MPs in the Electoral College. There are 543 members in the Lok Sabha and 245 in the Rajya Sabha. Out of this, 8 upper house seats are vacant. Trinamool Congress decided to abstain from voting. A total of 744 MPs are expected to vote.
