Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada will send firefighting experts and equipment to Chile as the country battles wildfires.
In a statement released on X Sunday, the prime minister said Canada would send help to fight the wildfires and also thanked Chile for its “invaluable support” last summer when Chile helped Canada fight the fires without cases.
“When the wildfires were burning in Canada last year, Chile provided invaluable support,” Trudeau said at the X.
“Now, in response to the devastating wildfires affecting our Chilean friends, we’re sending them aid – including firefighting experts and wildfire equipment.”
The number of firefighting experts and the special equipment that will be sent has not yet been specified.
