Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjab attacked the Makdarwal police station of Mianwali district on Tuesday evening with highly sophisticated weapons, but the Punjab Police thwarted the attack by fighting the terrorists.
According to an audio received in the police WhatsApp group, the local police had already received information about a possible terrorist attack. The police were armed and on full alert to deal with a possible attack.
In the video circulating on social media, it can be seen and heard that a fierce exchange of fire is taking place between the police and the terrorists.
On the other hand, TTP spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani has confirmed the attack in a statement on social media and said that TTP fighters have attacked Makarwal police station using heavy weapons in which many Casualties are likely.
The statement also said that along with the casualties, the police station building was also damaged and the TTP militants managed to escape safely.
The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, has paid tribute to the Punjab Police for repelling the terrorist attack and said that the brave soldiers of the police have crushed the nefarious intentions of the terrorists.
It should be remembered that yesterday there was a suicide blast in a mosque located in police lines in Peshawar, in which according to reports so far 100 people were killed while 53 people were injured, seven of whom are in ICU.
