The Maulana of a Madrasa in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh has been accused of absconding with his own minor student. The age of the student is said to be 15 years. It is being said that Maulana Junaid Alam has married her. The police is searching for him.
Maulana Junaid is married and father of two children. The entire episode has come to light through his wife’s complaint to the police. She has requested to bring her husband back. The mother of the minor student had also lodged an FIR for kidnapping of her daughter on 17 September 2023.
This case is of Aspur Devsara police station area of Pratapgarh. The first complaint in this matter was lodged by the student’s mother on September 17. She had told that on September 16, at 10 pm, she had gone to sleep with all her daughters after having dinner. When he woke up at 1 in the night, his 15-year-old elder daughter was not in bed. They searched around a lot, but did not find the daughter. The police had registered a case against unknown accused under section 363 of IPC and started searching for the girl. According to media reports, meanwhile, on September 21, 2023, the wife of this Maulana, who teaches in the madrasa of Wajidpur in Aspur Devsara police station area, reached the police station with her children. The woman told her name as Nurul Nisha. She gave a complaint and told that her husband had married his own student.
According to Nurul Nisha, she had four children from Junaid. Two of these have died. Now Nisha has no money to support her children. Junaid has not come to meet his wife and child for a long time. Nisha says that after Junaid married her own student, she has become helpless.
Pratapgarh’s Additional SP Vidyasagar Mishra, while talking to OpIndia, said that police teams are raiding Bihar and some other parts in search of the absconding Maulana. He said that Junaid will be arrested soon. Maulana Junaid is originally from Garhwa, Jharkhand.
