Irshadgul News report,
A man was killed in a fire at a house in Maine where he was staying as a guest, officials said Thursday.
Terrence Leach, 68, did not survive the second fire, which started on Verona Island near Bucksport about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety. Two other people including the landlord came out safely.
An image shared by officials showed the building engulfed in flames.
Officials said foul play is not suspected in Leach’s death, but the cause of Thursday’s fire remains under investigation.
According to the Department of Public Safety, Leach was at home after his home in Prospect, across the Penobscot Narrows Bridge from Verona Island, was destroyed in a fire the day before.
Officials ruled that the fire was accidental, adding that Leach had been smoking at the home using an oxygen tank.
