Chennai: Due to high temperature and high humidity, the Chennai Meteorological Department has warned that heat stress will occur in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry areas.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal due to variation in westerly wind speed. It is likely to continue till August 7.

Cuddalore, Erode, Karur Paramathi, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli, Parangipettai and Tuticorin recorded temperatures of 37.7 degrees Celsius or over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry will experience heat stress due to high heat and high humidity. Due to this, various effects are likely to occur to the people.
