Who will be the next Chief Justice of Lahore High Court? Judicial Committee headed by Chief Justice to decide today

ISLAMABAD: Important meeting of the Judiciary Committee headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faiz Isa will be held today.

For the first time in history, instead of appointing the most senior judge as the Chief Justice, the Chief Justice will be chosen from among the top three judges. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Ali Baqir Najafi and Justice Alia Neelam will be considered and nominated as the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court.

It should be noted that former Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court Malik Shehzad Ahmad Khan was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court, after which Senior Justice Shujaat Ali Khan was appointed as Acting Chief Justice.
