dr. Yasmeen Rashid challenged former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s victory in Lahore’s NA-130 constituency in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Several second-placed candidates have so far challenged the election results in the High Court.
Another independent candidate Shehzad Farooq challenged the success of Maryam Nawaz from Lahore NA:119, while the success of another PML-N winner Ata Tarar in NA:127 was also challenged in court by PTI-backed independent candidate Zaheer Abbas Khokhar.
Another PTI-backed candidate, Rehana Dar, has petitioned the High Court for a recount in Sialkot’s NA-71. Rehana Dar challenged PML-N veteran Khawaja Asif’s success in Sialkot constituency.
In another constituency, Lahore NA-117, the victory of IPP President Aleem Khan was challenged by an opposing candidate.
Malik Tauqeer Khokhar also challenged the results of second constituency of National Assembly Lahore NA-126 in Lahore High Court in which winner Saif ul Malook Khokhar, RO and Election Commission were sued.
Besides, the opponent challenged in court the victory of PML-N’s second winner in Lahore PP-169 Malik Khalid Khokhar.
A PTI-backed independent candidate from Multan’s NA-148 has filed a petition in court for a recount of votes in the constituency. Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani was declared the winner by a narrow margin of votes in NA-148.
PTI’s Haleem Adil Shaikh challenged the NA-238 result in the Sindh High Court. MQM’s Sadiq Iftikhar successfully returned from Karachi seat.
Besides, the result of NA-248, which was won by MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, was contested by independent candidate Arsalan Khalid.
