Government’s Eid gift cuts electricity rates to consumers: Tarar

Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Saturday that the reduction in electricity tariffs on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr is a special gift from the government to consumers.

In talking with a private television channel The minister said that the focus of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is about reducing inflation.

He said electricity rates in April decreased by Rs 3.82 per unit compared to the previous month.

The Information Minister said the current government had saved the country from debt default. And now the exchange rate and value of the rupee are stable due to prudent policies.

He said Bloomberg magazine also wrote that inflation in Pakistan fell by 2 percent, while predicting that it would fall further next year.
