Karachi: In the interbank market The rupee continued to weaken against the dollar on Friday. Meanwhile, the dollar remained unchanged at 279 rupees 69 pesos in the open currency market. Due to shortage of money the rupee rate was 278 18 paise and later increased by 2 paise to 278 50 paisa but due to better supply. The dollar interbank rate thus fell 10 paisa to 278 rupees 38 paisa.
