The Country Director of the World Food Program met with Senior Provincial Minister Mariam Aurangzeb in Lahore.

during the meeting Senior provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb told the country’s World Food Program director that establishing a nutrition group was one of the top priorities of the Punjab chief minister.

In this regard, he said the country director of the World Food Program had agreed to start a project to eliminate child malnutrition in Punjab.

Maryam Aurangzeb, Senior Provincial Minister told the director of the World Food Program that Farmers are being equipped with modern agricultural machinery and IT.

He also discussed cooperation on bilateral issues related to population control, health, sanitation, education with the country directors of the World Food Program.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that Punjab is a food basket. But the majority of mothers and children suffer from malnutrition. 78 percent of children are accustomed to going to school without breakfast. However, thanks to the joint efforts of donors and partners, This issue is being fixed.

He also discussed with the country director of the World Food Program about starting a school feeding program to curb malnutrition among children.

Maryam Aurangzeb, senior minister of Punjab province, told them that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will launch a solid waste management project, in which in the first phase, work on waste management will be carried out in 16 major cities.

He told the country director of the World Food Program that the implementation of the action plan to eliminate environmental challenges and smog will start from next week.

On the occasion, the country director of the World Food Program pledged support for research and development on malnutrition.
