The resolution to request a recount of votes in NA-266 has been reserved by the Election Commission.

During the hearing presided over by a three-judge bench headed by the Election Commission’s head, the petitioner’s lawyer argued that the votes from 36 polling stations in NA-266 Gila Abdullah should be verified, alleging the presence of 266 fake votes.

The petitioner’s lawyer proposed a biometric verification of the ballots, prompting a query from the Punjab member regarding the feasibility of verifying 31,000 votes.

In response, the lawyer clarified that the request was only for the verification of votes from the 36 polling stations in question.

The Election Commission has reserved its decision on the matter of recounting the votes in S.B.S.-266.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai emerged victorious in NA-266, while Salahuddin from JUI filed the petition with the Election Commission.
